2009 Annual Dinner
The Crossroads Coalition celebrates our 10 county region at our Annual Dinner. The audience will be approximately 500 key business and education leaders along with elected officials.
This year's dinner will feature Coach Bob Hurley as the keynote speaker. In 37 years at Saint Anthony High School, Coach Hurley's teams have won 957 games and lost only 106. According to the National Federation Sports record book, he is the only coach in high school basketball to win 90% of his games.
Under Coach Hurley, St. Anthony's has had 5 undefeated teams in 4 different decades: 1974, 1989, 1996, 2004, and 2008. They also have won 9 consecutive state titles from 1983 to 1991 which is a National Record. They have won 3 USA Today National Championships (1989, 1996, 2008) and won 20 or more games during 35 out of 37 seasons.
More than 125 of Coach Hurley's players have received scholarships to NCAA Division I schools, 5 have been selected as NBA first round picks, and 2 have played Major League baseball.
What makes these accomplishments even more remarkable is that St.Anthony's does not have a gym and has only 250-coed students. Many of his players are the first players to attend college but the one statistic of which he is most proud is that all but 2 of his players have gone on to college.
